Sixth-ranked Kentucky dropped to Georgia 82-69 Tuesday night in Athens. The poor shoooting Wildcats struggled most of the night as they hit only 37.5 percent of their shots, including 6 of 25 three-pointers (24 percent). The Cats were also outrebounded by a 41-34 margin. The Bulldogs, now 13-2, hit 29 free throws while UK made 15 from the charity stripe.
UK point guard Lamont Butler led the team with 20 points, his eighth double-figure game of the season. He also had a season-high four steals.
Kentucky, which dropped to 12-3 overall, face Mississippi State on the road Saturday night. The 8:30 pm ET game will be shown on the SEC Network.
