Unranked Ole Miss took advantage of its strong offensive rebounding performance as the poor-shooting Rebels upset No. 8 Kentucky 66-57 Monday night in Oxford.
Mississippi, which improved its overall record to 16-7 (7-4 in SEC), outrebounded UK 54-33 overall, including 27 offensive rebounds (compared to Kentucky's four). Ole Miss hit only 32.5 percent of its shots.
A pair of Kentucky standouts -- Teonni Key and Clara Strack -- posted a double-double. Key had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Strack had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Strack also broke a school record for blocked shots in a game with eight.
The Wildcats are now 19-3 overall and 8-2 in SEC. They host No. 3 Texas Thursday night at Historic Memorial Coliseum. The 7 p.m. ET game will be shown on ESPN 2.
