BIRMINGHAM – The Southeastern Conference announced its 2025 women’s basketball postseason awards Tuesday.


Texas’ Madison Booker was named Player of the Year with Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes named Freshman of the Year. Kentucky’s Georgia Amoore was named Newcomer of the Year while her teammate Clara Strack was voted as Defensive Player of the Year. South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley was named Sixth-Woman of the Year. Scholar-Athlete of the Year goes to Missouri’s Grace Slaughter.


Texas head coach Vic Schaefer was named Coach of the Year. This is Schaefer’s fourth SEC Coach of the Year honor after he was given the award in 2015, 2018 and 2019 while at Mississippi State.


First-team and second-team All-SEC honorees, All-Freshman team, All-Defensive team, along with Player, Coach, Newcomer, Freshman, Defensive Player, 6th Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year were chosen by the league’s 16 coaches. Coaches cannot vote for their own team or players and ties are not broken.
